Kwaicore (Kwaicore Kwaicore Kwaicore) vs Google

Kwaicore Kwaicore Kwaicore Kwaicore

There are people on this mission who think that this trick works?? Well maybe it does, but for those of you are more interested in actually getting to the top on your own, then here we are.

I recently saw a Kwaicore blog explaining what not to do at a Kwaicore concert. Firstly, there are no such things; underground music is genuinely good sometimes, also original. There is no reason to have to force together two genres that probably hate each other anyway. Imagine; a heavy rocker almost booty hopping his way across the stage! Beyonce would not be proud.

So keep your mullets (go Alberton whoo) and if you seriously want to go as far as the heels all you "Braai-yanston" girlies, by all means do so.

On the other hand, those all stars your brother gave you, I knew you didn't want to slather them in pleather and fix it up with your Spar Charcoal for eye liner. There's no need to get rid of that overall you wash every weekend with Jik to give it that old school feel.

Kwaito (kangaroos?), Hardcore Punk (people?), don't lose touch with your true selves; fist pump the shit out of your favourite (can I call it a song?) when your head banging causes your head to bang. Shake and booty hop and look like you are having an epileptic fit whilst standing and do it well because you can!!

Kwaicore hasn't died?

Dear bloggers. I must say, there are some of you out there who are really trying hard to revive something that wasn't really alive. Given that no music was actually released, constantly posting about it will help the cause as much as a hot shower cures aids! Kwaicore is no "love child" of hardcore and kwaito, there is no "revolution". An "accidental" anything that has to do with ghetto head banging is about as accidental as my father asking any guy I bring home what their intentions are.

So seriously, the last 6 weeks have been fantastic, but Kwaicore and "Kwai Cool" anything else from "sticks" to "revolutions" has to go back to real music making.

Kwaicore, your time is done!

It's been the 6 weeks of what I think has been the most pointless use of the internet. We have access to the whole world but people were writing about something that doesn't actually exist. Now I sit here typing this blog thinking about all those dear people who who believed so hard in something so weird and frankly dysfunctional as a concept; what are they going to do now?

There are still however the "beliebers" of kwaicore, those who think that normal Kwaito and Hardcore music is just not enough. There are those out there who will wear those high thick black boots, head banging to Arthur Mafokates' stuff.

Come on! There are real people out there making real music and real success out of it. These people are those Kwaito artists (whoever they are) and the head banging rockers could be doing the same.

The face of Kwaicore

Every music genre has a face; bubblegum pop was won by Britney Spears whilst Corey Taylor can easily take whatever his genre is. There's also a guy named Bricks who apparently is an awesome Kwaito star whilst whoever is the face of Hardcore punk takes that.

Why don't you decide what the face of Kwaicore should look like? Here's a guideline to get you started. Below are two artists with their signature facial expressions. Beware girls who take photos of their duck faces, you may have competition.

Artist "Bricks" with his '"face-brick angry face"
"Girls Can Rock" punk bad. I see 3 girls.

Kwaicore, don't try fix what isn't broken.

Humans are known to do a lot with their eyes first; we eat with our eyes, find potential partners with our eyes and sometimes even tell people that they're just stupid by giving them the look of shame. I have been sitting at my laptop for countless hours staring at shameless blogs about Kwaicore. Well ladies and gents, here are visual reasons as to why Kwaicore shouldn't exist.

Which do you prefer? Hardcore punk or Kwaito comfort? Leave your comments

What is it about Kwaicore blogs?

This is more or less the last day I can push to get my rankings up and frankly speaking, I think Google hates me. I have been sitting on page 11 for the past week and as they say, "if it is not on page 1 of Google, it doesn't exist."

Please all, get people to follow and comment, posts are open too. We need to get this anti-Kwaicore blog to the top! Kwaito and Hardcore punk need to live as two separate entities and should not be encouraged to join. This is not some poor Indian family searching desperately for a husband for their daughter, this is real music we're talking about.

Save your genre, share this blog!

The kwaicore wars

The kwaicore wars. Thats what they should call it. Who's "they" you might ask? The lecturers who set us up to do weird briefs such as this. I have seen it all, from people helping out their fellow classmates to wanting to sabotage the same people. Kwaicore has not only ruined our internet usage but we are now wanting to tweet about it every second as opposed to interesting stuff. We are sitting here hopelessly behind our laptops praying that our Kwaicore blogs gain the ratings so that we can get the marks. Leave Kwaito and Hardcore music alone. Like any old classic car, it shouldn't be messed around with. I don't see why we have people out there who feel it's necessary to now promote something that soon won't exist in their lives after they receive their marks. Arthur Mafokate wouldn't want his music superimposed with some head banging genre of noise. Likewise with some pierced Bad Brains guitarist wanting to swing his hips around like a carousel. It won't ever happen, so why bother? There are so many better mash ups in the world and we're here promoting this? So glad these 6 weeks are over...

Apparently they call this Kwaicore??

Here's to a student who actually attempted to create an example of the infamous genre Kwaicore. Look, I hoped that this day would never arrive and that people would just carry on talking crap, but someone out there has obviously had other ideas (overachiever perhaps?). This is neither ghetto nor is it of head banging quality in my opinion, let me know yours.

Check this out and please tell me what better mash ups there could be

Written and performed by Thembelani Gumede aka Goomza, the song is entitled Kwaicore. Have a look...

The right kind of mix (not "Kwaicore")

For those of you who aren't aware, this blog is a part of a competition; by the end of this week, there will be a weird old lecturer sitting at his computer Googling the word "kwaicore" thinking about what he's got planned for his bingo night. Don't get me wrong, lecturers are smart cookies, but to come up with a brief as dumb as this, you have to ask yourself what they do in their free time.

Anyways, talking about free time, should you have any, check out the new links to proper mash ups as opposed to whatever generic GarageBand bull that my copy class has tried to come up with

I'm going to offer an alternative to Kwaicore

It's been a few days since I last posted but I am back. In the break, I took time to do a lot of research to show and explain my utter dislike for people trying way too hard. Music mash ups? not kwaicore, mass up. Is that what you're keen on? I'll give you a mash up site that really knows what they're doing! Check A real mash up and let me know what you think.

Here's a site dedicated to the real "mash up trend"
Acapellas Heaven

So to all you kwaicore freaks, here's the real thing.

"Music of the townships"; The intro to Kwaicore

You may not know what the townships actually are, but don't be fooled; there are actually people out there who do buy expensive clothing and shoes only to dance around a fire to burn these items. Now whilst this ritual may seem positively stupid, it's the music they dance to that I'm going to talk about; Kwaito.

Arthur Mafokate, the Britney Spears or the Elvis of Kwaito, describes the relationship between Kwaito and gangsterism as music revolving around ghetto life. To me, its the most ironic or contradictory form of music ever, the name being derived from the Afrikaans word for angry ("Kwaai") and then it being used post-apartheid as a way of the ghetto, because apparently them being oppressed was not enough credit. If you read what other people have to say about Kwaito, the believe it's the ghetto way of saying "house music". So let's just 'ghetto' everything because we can.

Alright, so moving on from the fact that kwaito is the music of "rebelling" and "renaming", I have a few examples i thought I'd share with you as I need to get those of you who have "never" (you have, you just didn't acknowledge) heard.

Is Kwaito not just house music?? Then what is house music??

Why would you want to superimpose this onto SlipKnots Duality??

Let me know what you think

What exactly is good Hardcore? Can we leave it out of Kwaicore?

So after an amazing long weekend, I've had time to think; here I am slamming something that doesn't and shouldn't ever exist, but I have no actual background of it. Today, I'd like to share what I've gathered to be "good" hardcore music courtesy of a fellow student (Check her out: Another site that hates this).

I've researched hardcore bands, almost died. The following may actually have potential, but as their own genre. Look at bands such as Kill Hannah as well as Blacklisted with their track "Houdini Blues". Its some hard stuff (coming from me who listens to Mozart to calm me the f#ck down in traffic). According to other sites, hardcore punk bands are those in the ranks of Bad Brains and The Exploited, slight head banging, but no serious risk of concussions or whiplash. Then, according to people [names not mentioned for safety reasons but indulge me in looking at their excuses for blogs (They try)] it apparently has deep, soulful meaning. I can definitely see where they may be singing about the beauty of the day and lifes meaning in between their screaming of colorful f#cking language.

What I'm trying to say with this post is that hardcore music, hardcore punk to be specific, is already trying hard to be something by itself. Why the F would you now force it to work with a genre like Kwaito??
